What are the regulations on breastfeeding leave for female employees in China?

At the expiration of maternity leave, if there are difficulties and a work permit, the employee can apply for 6.5 months breastfeeding leave with the approval of the company.

If it is proved by a medical and health care institution at or above the second level that the employee has a disease that seriously affects the health of the mother and baby after childbirth, it shall file an application, and the employer shall approve the 6-and-a-half-month lactation leave.

The salary of female employees during the nursing leave shall be paid by 80% of their own salary.

If a female employee does not adapt to her original post during pregnancy or lactation, she may negotiate with the employer to adjust her post during that period or improve the corresponding working conditions. The employing unit shall not reduce its original wage income.
